You can download the binary of the latest GO version from the GO&#8217;s official download page &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/golang.org\/dl\/\">https:\/\/golang.org\/dl\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">GO is available to be installed on Win, Mac, and Linux platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Installation_on_MAC\"><\/span><strong>Installation on MAC<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">GO can be installed on MAC in three ways<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-list\"><li>Using archive<\/li><li>Using brew<\/li><li>Using .pkg installer<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Let&#8217;s look at all the three ways<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-very-dark-gray-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Using_pkg_installer\"><\/span><strong>Using .pkg installer<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Install<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-list\"><li>Download the MAC pkg installer from here &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/golang.org\/dl\/\">https:\/\/golang.org\/dl\/<\/a>. Double click the .pkg file and follow the onscreen instructions. Once finished GO will be installed in the below directory. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-prismatic-blocks\"><code class=\"language-go\">\/usr\/local\/go<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-list\"><li>The installer will also add &#8216;<strong>\/usr\/local\/go\/bin&#8217;<\/strong>&nbsp; to your env PATH variable. This is the directory where the GO binary resides. Relaunch terminal for changes to take effect<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Test Installation:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-list\"><li>Relaunch the terminal and type the&nbsp;command <strong>&#8216;which go&#8217;<\/strong> in the terminal.It will output  \/usr\/local\/go\/bin\/go.&nbsp; This is the location of go binary.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-list\"><li>Try running the <strong>&#8216;go version&#8217; <\/strong> command. It will output the current GO Version<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Uninstall<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">To uninstall do below two steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-prismatic-blocks\"><code class=\"language-go\">rm -rf \/usr\/local\/go      \/\/Will require sudo permission\nrm -rf \/etc\/paths.do\/go   \/\/Will require sudo permission. This action deletes will remove \/usr\/local\/go\/bin from PATH env<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-very-dark-gray-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Using_archive\"><\/span><strong>Using archive<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Install<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-list\"><li>Download the archive of the latest version of GO from here&nbsp; &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/golang.org\/dl\/\">https:\/\/golang.org\/dl\/<\/a>. After downloading untar it at the location <strong>\/usr\/local. <\/strong>You can  run the below command to untar<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-prismatic-blocks\"><code class=\"language-go\">tar -C \/usr\/local -xzf go$VERSION.$OS-$ARCH.tar.gz<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-list\"><li>After the untar, the below path will contain the go binary <strong>&#8216;\/usr\/local\/go\/bin&#8217;<\/strong>. You have to add this location to your <strong>.bashrc<\/strong>. Open your <strong>.bashrc<\/strong> make the below entry<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-prismatic-blocks\"><code class=\"language-go\">export PATH=$PATH:\/usr\/local\/go\/bin<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Test Installation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-list\"><li>Relaunch the terminal and type the command &#8216;which go&#8217; in the terminal. It will output  \/usr\/local\/go\/bin\/go.&nbsp; This is the location of the GO binary.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-list\"><li>Try running the <strong>&#8216;go version&#8217; <\/strong> command. It will output the current GO Version<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-list\"><li>Try running <strong>&#8216;go&#8217;<\/strong> command as well. It will output<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-prismatic-blocks\"><code class=\"language-go\">Go is a tool for managing Go source code.\n\nUsage:\n\ngo <command> [arguments]\n.....<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Uninstall<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">To uninstall perform below two steps<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-list\"><li>Run below command to remove the files. It will require sudo permission<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-prismatic-blocks\"><code class=\"language-go\">rm -rf \/usr\/local\/go <\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-list\"><li>Remove the below entry from the <strong>.bashrc<\/strong> file<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-prismatic-blocks\"><code class=\"language-go\">export PATH=$PATH:\/usr\/local\/go\/bin<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-very-dark-gray-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Using_brew\"><\/span><strong>Using brew<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Install<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Simplest way to install GO on MAC is using the brew. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-prismatic-blocks\"><code class=\"language-go\">brew install go<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Test Installation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-list\"><li>Relaunch the terminal and type&nbsp;command <strong>&#8216;which go&#8217;<\/strong> in the terminal.It will output <strong> \/usr\/local\/go\/bin\/go.&nbsp; <\/strong>This is the location of GO binary.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-list\"><li>Try running the <strong>&#8216;go version&#8217; <\/strong> command. It will output the current GO Version<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Uninstall<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">To uninstall simple run command<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-prismatic-blocks\"><code class=\"language-go\">brew uninstall go<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Installation_on_Linux_and_Free_BSD\"><\/span><strong>Installation on Linux and Free BSD<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Downloading_the_archive\"><\/span><strong>Downloading the archive<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\" id=\"block-03f2b100-e465-4e42-a669-3501e12673ce\"><strong>Install<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul id=\"block-b0dac177-82b7-4656-a75d-9fe06fe79336\" class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-list\"><li>Download the archive of latest version of GO from here&nbsp; &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/golang.org\/dl\/\">https:\/\/golang.org\/dl\/<\/a>. After downloading untar it at the location <strong>\/usr\/local. <\/strong>You can also run the below command to untar<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul id=\"block-9141c6ca-3d6c-4128-b0a0-0013963602bb\" class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-list\"><li>After the untar then the below path contains the go binary <strong>&#8216;\/usr\/local\/go\/bin&#8217;<\/strong> . You have to add this location to your .bashrc. Open your .bashrc make the below entry. If the file doesn&#8217;t already exist then create it.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\" id=\"block-364919f1-d00c-4b67-84e8-7d976427b296\"><strong>Test Installation:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul id=\"block-73ffe329-3c05-476d-8e98-050e8ae88ec4\" class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-list\"><li>Relaunch the terminal and type the&nbsp; command &#8216;which go&#8217; in the terminal.It will output <strong>\/usr\/local\/go\/bin\/go.&nbsp; <\/strong>This is the location of GO binary.<\/li><li>Try running the <strong>&#8216;go version&#8217;<\/strong> command. It will output the current GO Version<\/li><li>Try running <strong>&#8216;go&#8217;<\/strong> command as well. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\" id=\"block-4a408a60-41dd-4061-8d25-d1b52d548758\"><strong>Uninstall<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\" id=\"block-d011ddf6-e2c6-49c1-b596-cd32247b1773\">To uninstall do below two steps<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul id=\"block-0fd4d39e-9d2c-44b6-a96a-799cfae1aa5c\" class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-list\"><li>Run below command to remove the files. Double click the .msi file and follow the onscreen instructions.
